I Can't Believe It!

So the current trend is when I can't sleep I blog.  Fortunately for me I haven't had the need to blog in several months.

I can't believe that my baby is almost one!!  This will be the last first birthday party I plan for my children and I don't even understand how we've made it here so quickly.  I knew it would go by fast because it did with S but I swear it went so much more quickly with L than it did with S.

As I've been sorting through photos it's a bit funny to me that almost all my pictures of L are taken on my phone and very few of them are on the SLR. The ones that are on the SLR are very planned pictures, no candid's like we did with S.  I'm not sure if it's a sign of the times or just a sign of being a mommy to more than one.  Probably a bit of both I would guess.  So all that to say the pictures that I'm about to post are mostly from my phone so we'll see what the quality is like.

This girl loves food, and it makes no difference to her if it's the size of her head!!

The kitchen is one of her favorite places to play.

Well I had several more pictures to ad to this post but blogger keeps rotating them so I decided to skip them in order to maintain my sanity.  The perfectionist in me would stay awake for another hour trying to figure out what the issue is.  My assumption is this will be my last post until L's birthday post, which will probably happen right before S's fourth birthday given my current blogging history. :)

Lets go WAY back

So here are a few of the sisters from a while back.  You know, those days when 3 hours of sleep at night is considered an accomplishment, well those lasted quite a bit longer this time around than they did with S.  I'm not sure if it was just a difference in their personalities or if it also had something to do with the fact that there are 2 this time and I couldn't just sleep whenever the baby did.  It also didn't help that hubby was working in Maryland.  So, those are my excuses but here are a couple pictures anyway!

That pacifier was the size of her face!  On that same note, though, I love watching the little bobbing of the paci in her mouth.  Even now I think it's the sweetest thing to see her little head on my shoulder and the paci bobbing as she is falling asleep.  S didn't use the paci much more than 6 weeks so it wasn't something I noticed with her, but I LOVE it!!

Just the begining of oh SO many great picture moments.

Yes, I dressed my six week old up all for the sake of some cute photos.  This is the only one we have in which she isn't crying.  But I had two super cute butterfiles at the pumpkin patch.

Her first time on a Merry-go-round.  I almost had several heart attacks as the other three children were 9 year old boys who kept wanting to "go faster".  Thankfully I was able to bribe her off, with the bounce houses, after a few minutes.

Happy Turkey Day!  These little turkeys were a LAST miunte decisions and I stayed up till midnigh finishing S's so she could wear it to her feast at school.  Then I decided a day or two later that L should have one that matched.  I did S's on a shirt that will hopefully fit next Thanksgiving and L's is actually just attached to a clip so she will absolutely be wearing hers again.

This is at the Christmas party the Family Readiness group hosts for the Reserves.  Randomly enough we have made it to this event every year since we've had S, so I guess we'll try to keep up the tradition.  Santa flys in on a C130 and then takes pictures with all the kids.  One of us stands in line while the other takes S around to bounce, make crafts, get snacks etc.  Chasing after two may make it a little different next year! :)  This was the only shot we got where L wasn't all out crying.

Ok, now just to figure out how to change my layout/header and we'll be good to go!  Hope my two readers enjoy the marathon night of posting!

Easter

We celebrate the Risen Savior on Easter, and every other day of the week, in our home! This year S has a really good understanding of Easter and it has been a lot of fun to talk with her about it. Anytime she mentions egg hunts we always talk about what the true reason for celebrating Easter is. There have been plenty of opportunities for that this year with preshool, work and other places hosting these events. I love it when I hear her talking to her dolls, and anyone else that will listen(usually L), about the reason we celebrate Easter(she also did this at Christmas but as I was WELL off the blogging band wagon at that point there is no post documenting this).
Sadly I am not in the habbit of catching family moments on the camera, as much as I aspire to be the fabulsous ever present photogratpher of the family. Maybe one day I'll finaly fill that role as I hope to(not super hopeful however since my blogging consistency is well less than I had hoped for as well). After church we headed to the parentals and enjoyed a lovely lunch with them, sister 3(who needs to start her own blog now that she has an 11 month old!!!) and her family, and my grandparents. So I have only pictures of our little family of 4 since it was after everyone else departed that the camera finally came out.  :(

An Update???

So, I've decided (really I've known all along) that I'm never going to be a consistent blogger, as much as I hope to someday be.  But, tonight I need to sit down and chill out for a little bit, I just finished painting the hallway, and there's nothing good on TV and I just recently re-watched, for the 500th time, Pride & Prejudice (the A&E version).  So, here is an update, picture style.

Really is there anything more sweet than this little face???  I can't get over her!!

First time to eat food, oatmeal is crazy exciting!

She actually preferred chewing on the spoon, and still considers this a favorite pass time.

Western day at school!  These cowboy boots were a size too small but she insisted on wearing them.  She's only 3 and has already started suffering because the shoes make the outfit! :/ I'm in trouble!!
First day of ballet! (yes I'm a little behind, but just wait for the next post, it gets worse)  As long as she focuses on the teacher she does really well but when she gets distracted by one of the other students (which lets face it is REALLY often) she completely stops dancing and just stares.  It's really funny to watch!  I have some video, I'll try to figure out how to post it later.

Sisters playing!!  S was SOOO excited to have L in the basket with her, she's been asking since L was only a couple weeks old when they could play together.

S has also been wanting to feed L for a really long time.  I finally let S finish feeding her some pears a few days ago.
Please take note of the hair on S, I have to brush through this mess every day!!  I have seriously considered shaving it on well more than one occasion.

Alexandria Raye

Sweet Alexandria Raye was born on August 25, 2011 at 4:04pm. She weighed 7 lbs even and was 19 1/2 inches long.
So happy to meet this little girl!!
First Family Photo
I adore this little face, even now!!
I think this is the only time she really screamed. She's a pretty quiet little girl most days.
Lexa loves to cuddle, something I've never experienced before but LOVE. She is a great eater and goes to sleep very easily.
We love you Lexa Raye!!
So it's been almost a year since I've posted on this blog! I'm not actually surprised by this and am sure that no one actually checks it anymore... But I feel compelled to make a few posts as baby 2, Alexandria Raye, needs to have some pictures to look at in ten years when she opens the baby book and types this address into the computer. I'll just continue to be in denial about the fact that she's 6 months old, crawling and drinking out of a sippie cup(with some help of course). So without further ado.
